An experiment inspired by 'scanner photos' by Diane Kaye as shown in the December issue of Black and White Photography magazine. Epson Perfection 1240U scanner. Gordon Haslett, Dec 2009
White rose, 2 weeks old. From a series I am working on called Cut Flowers. Mamiya C330f, 65mm, F32, Ilford FP4, daylight from a south-east facing window and cloudy sky. Gordon Haslett
This is a re-shoot of the same 'chupeta' as shown earlier in the blog. This time the light is from a flash from above. Metz Flash, Mamiya C330f, 80mm, F22, Ilford FP4 Gordon Haslett
These photos are the start of a series that will combine different types of lighting with flowers in different states of freshness. I guess it is going to be a sort of 'wilting under the spotlight' kind of thing.
Above: white rose, taken with a horizontal back-light (flash).
Below: white lilly, taken with a horizontal back-light (flash) and another flash on the grey background.
